Is kratom legal in the Czech Republic? (2026)
Yes. Kratom is legal in the Czech Republic for adults aged 18+. Since 12 November 2025 it has been regulated as a psychomodulatory substance (Government Regulation No. 456/2025 Coll. under Act No. 167/1998 Coll.): it may be sold only by holders of a Ministry of Health permit, only to persons over 18, in packs of up to 50 g with a batch label, and online only with state electronic age verification and hand-to-hand delivery. Decree No. 448/2025 Coll. sets content limits for every pack.

How to buy kratom online in the Czech Republic
Online kratom sales in the Czech Republic are legal only with state age verification and hand-to-hand delivery (Section 16c of Act No. 65/2017 Coll.). In our e-shop this means: you choose products, verify that you are 18+ through the Czech e-identity (NIA) during checkout, pay by bank transfer, QR payment or cash on delivery, and the courier hands the parcel to you personally after checking your ID. Orders placed by 13:30 on a working day are dispatched the same day and usually arrive the next working day.

- Verify your age with the Czech e-identity (NIA) required by law
At the end of checkout tick „Ověřit věk přes NIA“ and sign in with a Czech e-identity: bank identity (BankID from a Czech bank), the Mobilní klíč eGovernmentu app, eObčanka or MojeID. We receive only a yes/no answer that you are over 18 – no name, address or ID number. Expats with an account at a Czech bank can usually use bank identity; ask your bank. - Receive the parcel in person. The Messenger courier delivers to your address anywhere in the Czech Republic (129 CZK), hands the parcel over only to you and checks your ID document. Parcels cannot be left with neighbours or in parcel lockers, and e-shop orders cannot be collected in our stores.
No Czech e-identity? Then the e-shop cannot verify your age, and we are not allowed to ship. Tourists and visitors without a Czech bank account or e-identity can buy in person in any of our five stores – bring an ID card or passport. We cannot verify age by phone, e-mail or a photo of a document; the law requires the state verification.

Lab-tested batches
Every batch of kratom sold by Captain Green is tested in an independent laboratory for mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine content, heavy metals and microbiological purity. The certificate is published before the batch goes on sale, the batch number is printed on the pack, and a QR code on the label leads to the certificate. Why this matters: Czech law sets maximum alkaloid limits per pack (see above). The certificate shows the measured values of the exact batch you buy, so you can check that the product is within the limits and know its real mitragynine content – not a marketing estimate.
Kratom in Prague, Brno, Ostrava and other Czech cities
We deliver to every town in the Czech Republic within one working day of dispatch, including Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Plzeň, Liberec, Olomouc, České Budějovice, Hradec Králové and Pardubice. Our physical stores are only in the Moravian-Silesian Region: Ostrava (Stodolní street), Frýdek-Místek, Havířov, Kopřivnice and Český Těšín. We have no store in Prague or Brno.
If you are visiting Prague without a Czech e-identity, you have two legal options: travel to one of our stores (Ostrava is about 3.5 hours from Prague by train) or buy from another permit holder with a physical shop in Prague – check the official register and ask to see the batch certificate. Avoid sellers who do not check your age or cannot show a permit; their products are outside the legal system and are not batch-tested.
Taking kratom across the border
Czech law does not restrict carrying legally bought kratom for personal use within the Czech Republic, but most neighbouring countries treat it differently. Slovakia has classified kratom as a Group I psychotropic substance since December 2021 (Act No. 479/2021 Coll.) – purchase, sale and possession are criminal offences. Poland has listed mitragynine and the plant as narcotics (Group I-N) since 2018. Germany and Austria do not control kratom under narcotics law, but it may not be sold for human consumption (Austria has banned it as a food since 1 September 2026). Always check the law of your destination country before travelling; we cannot take responsibility for customs or police checks abroad.

FAQ: buying kratom in the Czech Republic
Is kratom legal in the Czech Republic in 2026?
Yes. Kratom is a legal, regulated psychomodulatory substance. It may be sold only by permit holders, only to adults aged 18+, in labelled packs within the content limits of Decree No. 448/2025 Coll. A bill to raise the age to 21 and ban online sales is in Parliament but is not in force as of 17 October 2026.
Can tourists buy kratom in the Czech Republic?
In person, yes – any adult with an ID card or passport can buy in a licensed store, including our five shops in the Moravian-Silesian Region. Online purchases require age verification through the Czech state e-identity, which most short-term visitors do not have, so our e-shop cannot ship to you without it.
Do you ship kratom to Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Poland or other countries?
No. We deliver within the Czech Republic only. Czech law requires age-verified hand-to-hand delivery, which the courier can provide only in the Czech Republic, and kratom is prohibited in several neighbouring countries (Slovakia, Poland).
How is my age verified when I order online?
Through the Czech national identity authority (NIA): bank identity from a Czech bank, the Mobilní klíč eGovernmentu app, eObčanka or MojeID. We receive only confirmation that you are 18 or older. Without this verification the order cannot be sent – the law does not allow verification by phone, e-mail or a scanned document.

Is 7-OH (7-hydroxymitragynine) legal in the Czech Republic?
Yes, within limits. 7-hydroxymitragynine is a natural kratom alkaloid; Decree No. 448/2025 Coll. caps it at 0.1 % (50 mg) per powder pack and 0.5 % (50 mg) per extract pack. How can I check that a Czech kratom seller is licensed?
Look the seller up in the Ministry of Health register of persons authorised to handle psychomodulatory substances; it lists every permit holder, their shops and whether internet sales are authorised. A licensed seller verifies your age, sells packs of max. 50 g with a batch label, and can show the laboratory certificate of the batch.
Can I collect my online order in one of your stores?
No. E-shop orders are delivered only by courier to the address you enter, after age verification. In the stores you buy directly at the counter with an ID check – no reservation or pre-order is needed.
What is the maximum amount of kratom I can buy?
The law limits the pack size (50 g of powder, 10 g/10 ml of extract) and the alkaloid content per pack, not the number of packs per customer. Czech law currently sets no limit for personal transport within the country; other countries may apply their own rules.
